Welcome to LibraryFiltering.org
August 11, 2010 Update: Thanks to the vendors who have registered and begun entering their product information. I'm hoping that in the next 30 days or so, the site will have a solid 30 products or so for libraries to learn about. If you know of a product or are considering a product for your library, please ask your potential filtering vendor to register here and enter the required info on their product so you (and everyone else) can compare apples to apples!
And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming..... - Lori
If you are looking for information about Internet filtering products for your library, you've come to the right place. If you are have a filter product you want libraries to know about, you too have come to the right place.
How Library Folk Can Use This Site
You can use this site to look up information about a specific product or you see how all the products compare by company info, price, filtering technology, administration and (my personal favorite) overriding (the way they deal with inappropriately blocked content. If you have specific products that you'd like to compare, use the Compare Specific Products page.
If you use a product that isn't listed here or if there is a feature you'd like included, please let me know!
How Vendors Can Use This Site
If you would like to have your product included here, you must first register and activate your account. Then you may add one or more products to the listing. Once you've added your product(s), you can come back anytime and edit them. If you fail to keep your product listing up-to-date -- at least updated annually -- I will delete your listing. I will send out a reminder to do just that so be sure you give me an email address that will actually reach a human being.
If you are having any problems with your product list, do not hesitate to contact me.
